4 Months Dr's Appointment Part II

Nina went back for her 2nd round of immunizations for 4 month olds. Here she is on the way down there...

She weighed in at a whopping 14 pounds 4 ounces! We had to wait a little long since our appointment was on a Saturday, but Nina entertained herself playing with her toys and looking at the murals...she got 3 shots and cried her heart out :(

She got a fever that night and was fussy but is fine now.

Visit from the Naughtons!

Last week the Naughton family came to Miami for a visit after their vacation in Puerto Rico. Nina got to spend some time with her cousins Rowan and Orla for the first time. It was so cute, Orla always wanted to take care of Nina and would cry and say "Baby Nina, Baby Nina!!!". She wanted to hold her all the time and would gently caress Nina's hair....adorable!

A visit wouldn't be complete without a stop at Ghiradelli's on Lincoln Road!

4 month doctor's appointment

Nina had her 4 month doctor's appointment last Friday. She is now 13 pounds 6 ounces and 24 inches long. She's close to three times her birth weight already! She did really well....the doctor was very happy to hear she is sleeping through the night on her own and commented on her great neck control. I told her Nina likes to stand up and the doctor said most babies don't bear weight on their legs until 5 or 6 months. I am so proud at how well she is developing. She will be able to start solids at 5 months but the doctor said to try to wait until 6 months. We'll see how it goes...it seems she is already ready for real food since she always stares at everything we eat nowadays and constantly chews on her tongue. She is so curious about food - big surprise considering who her parents are! haha

She had 2 shots dTap and polio. She did well but then later that night she came down with her first fever - 101.5. We were worried sick and she was fussy. We gave her baby tylenol and she was fine by Sunday night. Saturday night we had to walk her around in her stroller at 1 am to get her to sleep. She is back on track now thankfully and doing great! 4 Months Today!

It's hard to believe Nina's been with us for 4 months already. Time flies! This past month has been so exciting to watch all the new things Nina does. First and most importantly, she is now sleeping through the night!! whooo hooo!!! She sleeps anywhere from 6-8 hours at night, and then another 4 after that, which is great for mommy! Jeremiah and I are much more rested now. She stays up more during the day spending her time playing and even watching some cartoons. She seems hypnotized when her favorite shows are on, Ni Hao, Kai-lan and Wonder Pets on the Noggin channel. She is getting great at tummy time and doesn't get upset anymore when placed on her belly. She kicks her legs so hard, she seems to be creeping. Her newest thing is she loves to pull herself up to a standing position. She loves to be standing up and sometimes gets bored if she isn't standing on our laps! Jeremiah keeps saying she is going to walk before crawling!!

We also moved this month! We finally moved in the beginning of March to Hallandale Beach to a 2 bed/2bath condo. We love it! Here's my family hanging out on the balcony:

She continues to grow and is getting really heavy. My arm muscles are getting stronger everyday! I'm guessing she is close to 15 pounds now...we have her 4 month appointment tomorrow so I'll post the results then. Oh and remember the issue we had with her needing physical therapy? We went to get an evaluation at a PT center and Nina is fine!! After 1 session the therapist said Nina is great and developing normally. All that worry for nothing! One more great thing about Nina is she lets us know when she is sleepy. She starts humming and making loud coos almost like singing. Once she gets picked up, she is out in like a minute! She is such a loveable, cuddly baby and we love her so much. It's hard to even remember what our life was like before her!!
