First day at the beach

The weather has been beautiful these days - mid 70's during the day so we made a trip out to Hollywood beach, less than a mile from our condo and hung out for the day. Nina walked straight to the water and loved the waves hitting her feet. She didn't like the sand at first. She stuck her hands in it and started crying! So I started piling it on her feet and she got used to it. I dug her a little hole but she didn't like that too much - Get me out of here!

Even though Tita Rissa headed home to NYC, Tito Theo stayed a couple more days to enjoy the weather. Nina loves her Theo!
Playing at the beach had Nina pooped! Cuddle time with Mommy!

First Heat game!

The Boston Celtics were in town so Nina got to go to her first Miami Heat game this Sunday. Me and J would never miss a game like this with our favorite teams up against each other. My parents, sister and her bf Theo came - we all managed to sit in the same section. Nina did great - she loved all the lights and obnoxious fans and even watched some of the game. Despite the Heat loss, it was a great game - Here are some shots from tonight... We had excellent seats - thank you Ebay!!Lolo took care of her during the 3rd quarter - she had so much fun! She was so affectionate during the game, she even hugged the guy that sat next to us!

The best part of the night was when Nina got on the Jumbotron!! J was lucky enough to catch it on video!

Nina's birthday party II

Nina's birthday party was in my Aunt and Uncle's house in Salem, NH. Unfortunately, it rained the whole day but it was a full house and a lot of fun anyway. Because we live in FL, her party was also a family reunion for all of our extended family and J's family. The house was packed (over 60 people) and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect celebration. Nina had a great time and was all smiles the entire day...that was most important to us. She had fun hanging out with her cousins and being the center of attention. I was so sentimental thinking back to the days when she was a helpless little preemie and wouldn't even open her eyes. I am so proud of how much she's grown and developed in the last year. I cherish the time I was able to stay at home with her this year and see her learn and do new things. She is truly the greatest joy in our lives and she is such a sweet, happy and playful little girl. Here are a few photos from the day:

She was smiling so much as we sung happy birthday to her - it was so cute! Mmmmmm, nothing like red velvet cake! She ate a few handfuls and had enough - she doesn't have much of a sweet tooth which is strange!Relaxing with Tita Rissa in her #2 birthday outfit!

Nina was glowing as we sang happy birthday to her, it's like she knew! hahaHer first taste of REAL sugar - she went straight for the frosting!MMmmmmm! It was a great day! Nina had so much fun! Before we left, Jeremiah had his nephew Jacob laughing and all smiles just from saying the word - AVOCADO! it was so cute!

November vacation - BOSTON, MA

After a couple of days in NYC, we drove to Boston - it took about 4 hours including a stop to eat. Nina did surprisingly well, not one bout of crying! She is a great traveller, we are so lucky. We stayed in Sudbury, MA in my cousin, Corinne's house with her hubby and 3 boys. I am her newborn's (Braeden) godmother so the Christening was scheduled for that Sunday.

He is the sweetest little newborn - who doesn't exactly look newborn-y! he's a whopping 16 pounds at 2 months! He has the cutest chubby cheeks!
Nina with her Lola Tatec/best "put Nina to sleep partner"
She got all dressed up with tights and boots for the special day
Later that week, we hung out with Jeremiah's family. Here's his dad and grandpa. The next day, we met up with Jeremiah's mom. It was the first time she saw Nina. We had lunch and took Nina to Fenway Park. We walked around Landsdown Street and took a picture in front of the spot Mommy and Daddy met! 11 years later we come back as a family!Nina had a blast on her grandma's bike!I had dinner with my girlfriends in Boston and later Angie came by our hotel to say hello to Nina! The next day we planned to spend the whole day with Uncle Mark and Linda. Unfortunately, that day Nina caught her very first cold! It was her first time being sick ever, so it was a rough night. We had a quick lunch and headed home for some rest. Nina couldn't be sick on her actual birthday!

November vacation - NY

So it's been a long time since our last post. We just got back from a 12 day trip to NY, Boston and NH. It was Nina's first time up North so we were so excited to show her around where we used to live and where her daddy grew up. She was great on the flight up....she slept for an hour and played the rest of the time:
First we flew into NY , as soon as we stepped off the plane, the cool air hit us - whooo, it was chilly. Well, chilly for us. It was in the mid - 50's when we arrived. Here's Nina and Jeremiah cuddling at the White Plains airport:

We stayed with my aunt Tatec for one night...here's Nina in her jammies having dinner with their dog Nikko (and yes, they have a high chair from a restaurant in their house! LOL!) Check out her cute koala slippers from Sydney - thanks Tita Rissa and Theo!
The next day, we drove into Manhattan to visit my sister. It was Nina's first visit to People Magazine - My sis has this amazing cabinet full of fashion freebies that I love to sift through...Nina didn't seem the slightest impressed or anything...she said a quick hello to her auntie and hopped on the computer to check her e-mail! About 3 people stopped by to say hello to Nina - who works here?

That night we met up with my sister's bf, Theo and went for Korean BBQ - it was sooooo satisfying....why doesn't south FL have Korean BBQ??!!! WHY!!!

My sister lives in Chinatown - so for breakfast the next day, what else would we have? DIM SUM at the Golden Unicorn!! Mmmmmm! There's no better way to burn off dim sum then to do some shoe shopping. Nina loved these tacky pink pumps! Her daddy wasn't thrilled...how about some nice sneakers, Nina?

We spent the rest of the afternoon walking around the city and stopping at a cute farmer's market for some delicious hot apple cider and banana muffins! Nina loved watching all the people walking by...

That night, we headed to our next stop - Boston, MA!
