Lolo's Birthday!

We celebrated my dad's birthday last weekend. I remember last year, going out for her Lolo's birthday was one of Nina's first outings as a newborn. It's fun to see how much she's grown!
Last year - she slept the whole time:
This year - walking and dancing with Lolo!

Hallandale Beach lighting ceremony

Last week our neighborhood had a lighting ceremony. They had a mini-fair a block away from our condo with rides, carnival food and santa. Here are a few pics from the night. Nina made friends with another little girl. The more she interacts with little kids, we're noticing that she seems to be a bit more agressive than other kids. She usually walks right up to them and touches them or if they're playing with something, she push them aside to get to the toy. Hopefully it's just a stage!Waiting with daddy for the lights to turn onyay! they shut down the entire street for about 15 minutes and all the kids ran around and went crazy! Nina's first pic with Santa - this poor guy had to be sooo hot - it was 80 degrees out!

Nina dance

Lately Nina's been dancing A LOT. Every time she hears anything with a beat or plays with her lion push toy, she does a little dance. My favorite part is when she is walking and stops to do a little dance, then continues walking! She's really getting the hang of walking now too...all she does is roam around. Oh and excuse her no pants look - she had a messy dinner.

November vacation - NH

Sorry this is a little late, things have been so busy. To continue our November vacation, our last stop was Salem, NH. We stayed with my aunt and uncle, we lived with them for a couple of months right before we moved to Miami. They have always been the most hospitable family, always cooking something yummy for everyone - especially our filipino favorites! Here are a few pics from our stay. My brother's family also stayed in NH - Nina and her older cousin Malaya took their baths together before bed - it was soooo cute!Ready for bed!Nina and her cousin OrlaA trip to New England wouldn't be complete without a stop at Woodmans! Steamed lobster, clam chowda', fried clams, fish and scallops! Mmmmmm delicious! The last time I ate here I was 3 months pregnant with Nina and let me just say, i ate the whole menu! LOL!On our last night, we drove into the North End (like Little Italy) in Boston and stopped by our favorite place for Italian pastries and cookies. We took a big box home!Nina catching some zzzz's on the flight back to Ft. Lauderdale!

First day at the beach

The weather has been beautiful these days - mid 70's during the day so we made a trip out to Hollywood beach, less than a mile from our condo and hung out for the day. Nina walked straight to the water and loved the waves hitting her feet. She didn't like the sand at first. She stuck her hands in it and started crying! So I started piling it on her feet and she got used to it. I dug her a little hole but she didn't like that too much - Get me out of here!

Even though Tita Rissa headed home to NYC, Tito Theo stayed a couple more days to enjoy the weather. Nina loves her Theo!
Playing at the beach had Nina pooped! Cuddle time with Mommy!

First Heat game!

The Boston Celtics were in town so Nina got to go to her first Miami Heat game this Sunday. Me and J would never miss a game like this with our favorite teams up against each other. My parents, sister and her bf Theo came - we all managed to sit in the same section. Nina did great - she loved all the lights and obnoxious fans and even watched some of the game. Despite the Heat loss, it was a great game - Here are some shots from tonight... We had excellent seats - thank you Ebay!!Lolo took care of her during the 3rd quarter - she had so much fun! She was so affectionate during the game, she even hugged the guy that sat next to us!

The best part of the night was when Nina got on the Jumbotron!! J was lucky enough to catch it on video!

Nina's birthday party II

Nina's birthday party was in my Aunt and Uncle's house in Salem, NH. Unfortunately, it rained the whole day but it was a full house and a lot of fun anyway. Because we live in FL, her party was also a family reunion for all of our extended family and J's family. The house was packed (over 60 people) and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect celebration. Nina had a great time and was all smiles the entire day...that was most important to us. She had fun hanging out with her cousins and being the center of attention. I was so sentimental thinking back to the days when she was a helpless little preemie and wouldn't even open her eyes. I am so proud of how much she's grown and developed in the last year. I cherish the time I was able to stay at home with her this year and see her learn and do new things. She is truly the greatest joy in our lives and she is such a sweet, happy and playful little girl. Here are a few photos from the day:

She was smiling so much as we sung happy birthday to her - it was so cute! Mmmmmm, nothing like red velvet cake! She ate a few handfuls and had enough - she doesn't have much of a sweet tooth which is strange!Relaxing with Tita Rissa in her #2 birthday outfit!

Nina was still a bit under the weather but a lot better than the day before.Hanging out with Auntie Rebecca and Uncle Sean:When we got home, Jeremiah's sister, Rebecca surprised Nina with some birthday cupcakes! Nina was glowing as we sang happy birthday to her, it's like she knew! hahaHer first taste of REAL sugar - she went straight for the frosting!MMmmmmm! It was a great day! Nina had so much fun! Before we left, Jeremiah had his nephew Jacob laughing and all smiles just from saying the word - AVOCADO! it was so cute!

November vacation - BOSTON, MA

After a couple of days in NYC, we drove to Boston - it took about 4 hours including a stop to eat. Nina did surprisingly well, not one bout of crying! She is a great traveller, we are so lucky. We stayed in Sudbury, MA in my cousin, Corinne's house with her hubby and 3 boys. I am her newborn's (Braeden) godmother so the Christening was scheduled for that Sunday.

He is the sweetest little newborn - who doesn't exactly look newborn-y! he's a whopping 16 pounds at 2 months! He has the cutest chubby cheeks!

She got all dressed up with tights and boots for the special day
Later that week, we hung out with Jeremiah's family. Here's his dad and grandpa. The next day, we met up with Jeremiah's mom. It was the first time she saw Nina. We had lunch and took Nina to Fenway Park. We walked around Landsdown Street and took a picture in front of the spot Mommy and Daddy met! 11 years later we come back as a family!Nina had a blast on her grandma's bike!I had dinner with my girlfriends in Boston and later Angie came by our hotel to say hello to Nina! The next day we planned to spend the whole day with Uncle Mark and Linda. Unfortunately, that day Nina caught her very first cold! It was her first time being sick ever, so it was a rough night. We had a quick lunch and headed home for some rest. Nina couldn't be sick on her actual birthday!
